The paper presents an application of image processing for detection of combustion instability and characterization of pulverized coal combustion. Several shape parameters have been used, such as flame area, coordinates of its center of gravity, contour length as well as its Fourier descriptors for qualitative description of the flames. Experiments were done in a scaled down laboratory facility.Full Text: PDF
